Does Quality of Governance Play a Role in Trade? The Case of India’s Trade Flows

Economies across the globe are working towards strengthening quality of governance to promote a conducive environment for trade and investment. The study is an attempt empirically examine impact on India’s with 23 Asian partners period from 2000 2019. In order determinants trade, employs both static as well dynamic panel regression models. We also form index capture indicators using principal component analysis. result indicates that better policies (trade openness) managed have positive significant contribution trade. Sound definitely facilitates institutional, administrative, operative in terms lower transaction cost, enforcement mechanism, channels distribution, reduces barriers free movement goods, services capital India.
